Where the Park’s headed

KRISTINA Keneally's declaration appeared in the NSW Government Gazette on March 13 - the same day financial group Babcock & Brown, a partner in Killalea Coastal Investments, announced it had gone into voluntary administration.

Yesterday, Lands Minister Tony Kelly said it was his understanding that Babcock & Brown's partner Mariner Financial would take over the joint venture, which holds a 52-year lease agreement with the State's Park Trust.

Meanwhile, after excluding Kiama Deputy Mayor Ben van der Wijngaart from the Killalea State Park Trust Board, Mr Kelly said he had reviewed the board's composition and decided that Shellharbour council's representative should be a nominee of the general manager.

Kiama council's representative was no longer required, as Killalea State Park was outside its local government area.

Shellharbour council general manager Brian Weir said he would nominate director of the Shell Cove business division, Phil Woodcock, to the Killalea Park Trust Board.
